About the poet:

Born: January 27, 1832 in Cheshire, England
Died: January 14, 1898 in Surrey, England
 

Carroll is most famous for writing Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.  He is known for writing in the genre of literary nonsense.  He also wrote mathematical textbooks and enjoyed photography.
